The first step in Jerusalem’s Cultural Quarter was taken today as we inaugurated the Quarter’s anchor institution, the Jerusalem Arts Campus.

The campus, which is being built with the generous support of the Kirsh Family from New York, will be home to the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School, the Center for Middle Eastern Music, the Nisan Nativ Acting Studio, and the School of Visual Theater. More than 650 arts students will be part of Jerusalem’s cultural renaissance, drawing  the creative class of knowledge workers, intellectual professionals, and artists, to live in the downtown area, acting as an economic catalyst for urban growth and renewal.

Yohanna Arbib-Perugia, Jerusalem Foundation President, and Jerusalem Foundation CEO, Anat Tzur, joined Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat,( Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Zeev Elkin) and the UJA New York Federation officials  and delegation for the official inauguration.

The UJA New York Federation came to celebrate its centennial in Jerusalem as the city celebrates 50 years since the reunification.

Congratulations to the UJA New York Federation on celebrating 100 years of strengthening the Jewish people and the city of Jerusalem.

And congratulations to Jerusalem  on the launch of a new project that will leverage its unique past in order to shape its thriving future.
