On February 6, 2015 the board of the Jerusalem Foundation Germany met in the offices of the Permanent Representation of the State of Hesse in Berlin. During the meeting the 2014 successes and challenges of the Foundation's branch in Germany, current projects and future ideas were discussed. One of the high lights of the Jerusalem Foundation's activities in Germany in 2014 was a fundraising gala in the New Castle in Stuttgart. Read more on the Stuttgart Gala here.

On the same day the board also elected the acting Prime Minister of the State of Hesse, Mr. Volker Bouffier as the Jerusalem Foundation's new First Chairperson. He succeeds former Prime Minister of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Rüttgers.

The Jerusalem Foundation wishes to extend our deep gratitude to Prof. Rüttgers for leading the Jerusalem Foundation Germany with great commitment since 2006. The Brain Exhibit at the Bloomfield Science Museum and the renovation of the gym at the Kiryat Menachem neighborhood community center, one of the poorest districts in Jerusalem and part of the Jerusalem Foundation's Adopt a Neighborhood project, are only two examples of the impact his leadership had on the City of Jerusalem. Prof. Rüttgers will continue to support coexistence in Jerusalem.

We would like to thank the new First Chairperson MP Volker Bouffier for designating precious time to the cause of Jerusalem and are looking forward to productive cooperation.
