A Message from the International President

Yohanna Arbib Perugia

I am pleased to wish you all a very happy, sweet and healthy New Year. I officially became the International President of the Jerusalem Foundation on July 1st and it has been a whirlwind summer with many productive and interesting days spent in Jerusalem.  I am honored to be part of this amazing organization and this wonderful family.  For almost 50 years the Jerusalem Foundation has been working to advance and strengthen the city of Jerusalem and I am deeply moved to be part of this effort.

On September 22, 1966, legendary Mayor Teddy Kollek officially founded the Jerusalem Foundation.  Since that day, the Foundation has built, initiated, established and supported more than 4000 projects in Jerusalem that have changed the face of the city and improved the lives of all Jerusalemites.

As we look forward to the New Year, we are rolling out our 50th Anniversary celebrations which will include an incredible event in Jerusalem September 20-22, 2016.  I hope you will all join us when we welcome old friends and new to very special days in our favorite city.  Jerusalem is a beacon of light and spirituality and modernity and it is a powerful brand - it communicates meaning to people everywhere.

There are challenges ahead and so much more that is needed to support the people of Jerusalem and the future of this city.  The Jerusalem Foundation continues to work to strengthen and empower the people of Jerusalem and together with Mayor Barkat and the Municipality we are able to multiply our efforts. We have set ourselves some ambitious goals for the next 50 years and our work begins now, today.

I am excited and awed by the opportunity and challenge ahead and by this mesmerizing, eternal, golden city of Jerusalem.

On the eve of  Rosh Hashanà 5776 , I want to send you and your families my most sincere wishes of success,   prosperity,  health and happiness.

Shanà Tovà Umetukà and may you be inscribed in the Book of Life…
