The Jerusalem Foundation celebrated Jerusalem Day with a Reception hosted by the Israeli Ambassador at his St John’s Wood home. Ambassador Daniel Taub was in conversation with renowned historian Simon Schama on the subject of the history and the current reality of Jerusalem.


Schama raised questions such as “How do people of conflicting faiths share the same space without annihilating each other.” and, “Is the ultimate object of Israel to lead an ordinary life or an extraordinary one?”


Ambassador Taub reminisced about his experiences as Middle East peace negotiator prior to becoming Ambassador to London. Explaining that he was part of a delegation to Northern Ireland to see how they had succeeded in making peace. He also spoke about the Pope’s recent inspiring visit to Jerusalem.
