Contemporary Dance at the Machol Shalem Festival

Contemporary Dance At The Machol Shalem Festival
Machol Shalem, the resident dance company at Canada House hosting its MASH festival last week. Works were collaboratively created by an international team including Israeli and Norwegian choreographers. The dances were inspired by local events, contemporary Israel, Jerusalem and geopolitical discourse.

The festival opened at Canada House with innovative original performances. Another 7 events followed including 4 premiere performances, professional panels and workshops –  all held in different parts of the city. The highlight of the festival this year was “How hard can it be?” a co-production by Yaniv Cohen, Norway/Israel. This is a performance about Jerusalem, which has become more relevant now than ever. “How hard can it be?” was opened in Europe last month and premiered in Jerusalem as part of the Machol Shalem Festival.

The festival was curated accompanied and directed by Oded Graf. Machol Shalem is proudly supported by the Jerusalem Foundation.
