Coming Up: Fourth International Writers Festival at Mishkenot Sha'ananim – May 18-23, 2014

One of Israel's foremost literary events, The 4th International Writers Festival at Mishkenot Sha'ananim will bring together international and local writers for a week of meetings with writers, readings, writing workshops, panels, musical performances, master classes and more.

Held every two years, the International Writers Festival is a standout event on Jerusalem's cultural calendar, exposing Israeli audiences to global literature that has been translated into Hebrew, well-known works by Israeli authors and literature by up-and-coming Israel writers.

This year's festival will pay tribute to the late Yehuda Amichai, one of Israel's most important writers, who would have celebrated his ninetieth birthday this year. Yehuda Amichai was an Israeli Prize laureate, poet, translator, playwright, and novelist who lived in the Yemin Moshe neighborhood next to Mishkenot Sha’ananim. The tribute will include a musical performance that will feature his poetry.
