Canada House

Canada House

Canada House, formerly the Morasha Community Centre, has been renovated and upgraded. It will continue to serve the Morasha neighborhood, which sits on the seam between east and west Jerusalem. The neighborhood itself is composed of veterans and immigrants, old and young, secular and ultra-orthodox residents in providing community and social services and it will also house the new centre for youth and young adults. This is all part of the Jerusalem Foundation’s strategic vision to empower communities and foster economic independence, especially among young people. The rejuvenation of this section of town will draw people to activities for young adults, youth, education and recreation, and will also provide services for local residents.  Present and future plans for Canada House include:

The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews of Canada Community Services Centre; The Reitman Seniors Centre; The Gorman - Shore Learning Centre; The Freedman Teen Club and Youth Services; The Springboard Project at the Yaacov Gladstone Leadership Development Centre for Ethiopian Jerusalemites; The Weisfeld Computer Centre; The Koschitzky Centre for Young Adults; The Posluns-Mitz & Holbrook Families "Canada Club"; The Erika Gideon-Wyler Volunteer Activity Centre; The KimelFamily Information and Activity Centre; The Phil and Cees Wynn Business Centre; The Morasha Performance Hall, which is still in need of renovation.
