Woodstock Comes to Jerusalem

The 4th Annual Jerusalem Woodstock Revival returned to Jerusalem on Thursday, August 2, 2012. The Jerusalem Foundation happily lent its support to this music festival for the second year in a row.

Some 1,300 Jerusalemites, young and old, gathered in Kraft Stadium to enjoy an old time rock-n-roll tribute to the songs of Woodstock and the 1960's. The quality of the music was superb, performed by talented Israeli-born and immigrant artists. The stadium's playing field filled throughout the evening as guests picnicked and boogied late into the night.

The festive atmosphere was highlighted by the best dressed hippy competition, craft booths, face painting, hoola-hoops, juggling and more!

The star-studded Israeli lineup included:

* Geva Alon - singing Neil Young hits
* Ummagumma - playing Pink Floyd
* Libi & The Flashback hosting Yael Dekelbaum - performing Jimi Hendrix & Janis Joplin
* Michael Greilsammer with a set of Led Zeppelin
* The Elevators play The Grateful Dead
* Crystal Ship with a tribute to The Doors
* Maya Johana Menachem with Shay Tochner & friends with a Woodstock folk set featuring Dylan, Baez and others

The astroturf at Kraft Stadium rocked and Jerusalemites enjoyed the whole event tremendously. Who says you can't re-live the past?
