Bloomfield Science Museum Hosts EU Dignitary

On January 17th 2012, The Bloomfield Science Museum Jerusalem hosted Robert-Jan Smits, Director-General of DG Research and Innovation (RTD) at the European Commission. Smits is responsible for defining and implementing the EU policy and programs in the field of research and innovation. 

Smits spoke in the Museum's Leir Auditorium, in front of an audience of Israeli scientists and industrialists, presenting the European Union's 2020 program. The lecture was organized by ISERD (The Israeli Directorate for EU FP), an organization that aims at promoting joint Israeli-EU research and development ventures within the EU’s Research and Development Framework Program. During his visit, he toured the Museum's Innovation exhibition, sponsored by the Austrian Chancellor's Office and the Adolf and Mary Mil Foundation, through the Jerusalem Foundation. 

Hosting such prestigious science events ensures that the Bloomfield Science Museum Jerusalem maintains its status as a leading national institution and as a significant player on the world science and technology stage.
